Thymalin

Thymalin is supplied as the synthetic thymic nonapeptide thymulin, a nine-amino-acid peptide with the sequence Pyr-Ala-Lys-Ser-Gln-Gly-Gly-Ser-Asn. It has the molecular formula C₃₃H₅₄N₁₂O₁₅, a molecular weight of approximately 858.86 g/mol, and CAS number 63958-90-7 (thymulin). The peptide is characterized in the literature as a zinc-binding thymic factor; the biologically described form is the zinc complex, while the peptide itself is supplied metal-free.
